Hello friends and neighbors of Minnesota Ecovillage!
This Fall equinox has proved an extremely busy time here at the ecovillage with lots happening and lots to come, including upcoming volunteer weekends.
We celebrate this equinox by appreciating how far we’ve come in the last year and half since our arrival on this land, as well as all of the great memories, works, successes and struggles that are being harvested. This equinox marks a time of balance between daylight and nighttime, and it’s time to center and show gratitude to all that have supported and continue to support us, including all of the members of the Minnesota Ecovillage greater community.
Among the work we would like to share is a new and exciting acquisition of a greenhouse. A 40 foot long enclosure that has been rehomed from the online marketplace. This will allow us to propagate seedlings and expand our garden operation for seasons to come.
We have hosted the amazing farm buds volunteer organization for a very successful work day around the village. We cleared trees and brush for a gathering space next to our river and made way for a new, and very much needed, fenceline.
We have witnessed the birthing of Wild Hearts Rescue Sanctuary, establishing an organized non-profit horse rescue and rehabilitation center at the Minnesota Ecovillage. This has been led by Ellen Cales who has been rescuing and caring for horses here at the MNEV. We currently are rehabilitating 9 horses and have found foster homes for more. These horses are being rescued at auction from buyers who sell often perfectly healthy horses to foreign slaughterhouses to make a profit. We currently are in need of supplies, donations, foster and adoption parents, so check out the page on our website or email wildheartsrescuesanctuary@gmail.com to get involved.

Check out our updated rooms on our website for guest stays at the MNEV and as always be sure to follow us on social media to stay updated. website/facebook/instagram
Thank you for being part of this project and we look forward to more connection and community to come!
