wild hearts rescue and sanctuary

The Minnesota Ecovillage Project is home to Wild Hearts Rescue Santuary, a horse rescue and rehabilitation center. Every Year tens of thousands of unwanted horses in the US get shipped to be slaughtered in other countries. We pull the horses that we can from this pipeline and provide care for them here. It is our mission to save these horses, rehabilitate, re-train and eventually re-home them to healthy environments. We are also currently working on advocacy to try to illegalize this practice of selling horses to foriegn slaughterhouses. Many of our horses are available for adoption or foster and we try to find as many good homes as possible to allow us to rescue more.
